The first rule of Hermits
Social Hermits is a place for quite reflection. When the whirl of social networking just overwhelms, when you don't want to be invited to any more gatherings, when the word viral takes on the air of a deadly disease - Social Hermits will be here for you. We won't talk to you or show you the latest anything. You come here to sit quietly in your cave, only emerging to add some baroque romance to the landscape.
So the first rule of Social Hermits is that you don't invite anyone to join. You don't use all the tools that are made available for this purpose. You close your mind to them. If you don't invite anyone and you don't bother anyone, you will get promoted to be an officer of the Hermits.
So how will we recruit more Hermits? Ah, dread word. We don't evangelise. We don't proselytise. We don't preach. We don't recruit. We wait quietly in our choice of cave or barrel, and those who seek the path of the Social Hermit will find us.
